A new Amazons Kindle product is in the offing to compete with Apples iPad, according to reports. Amazon acquired Touchco, a US company specialising in touch-screen technology, in February, in a bid to create a new version of the Kindle to rival Apple’s iPad.

@Pinoycyberwebs IMO, the HP Slate will last shorter in battery life due to its use of windows 7. It will also be laggy which can be irritating to some people. With the iPad, the apps that you can get is made for it, and so does not lag or at least would not lag as much as a normal program would in the HP Slate. You can watch your favourite tv series on the go for free too in the iPad. Many flash videos can also be viewed in h264 (I wont go into too much detail with this).

@YUPnNOPE I will. Having Flash on the go is much better. Almost 75% of the sites are running Flash! I can watch all my favorites TV series on the go for free! I just go to Hulu or TVdotcom. While on iPad you need to buy it from itunes! lol In the long run I save more money while on iPad your wallet is empty. lol
@Pinoycyberwebs it also runs an os that IS NOT optimized for finger input. and with it having Windows 7, the battery life will likely not exceed 5 hours… if it even lasts that long. the iPad has a 10+ hour battery. Windows 7 is overkill for what most need to do on the go. And if you really needed a full OS on the go, you’d just get a macbook or a PC laptop. (side note, HP, in my personal experience, of all the PC brands, sucks the must in almost every category). Good luck with your “slate.”
HP Slate is much better! it has Flash, Webcam, Camera, Windows 7 and many more. iPad is Overrated!
